Pat comes from a long career in Early Childhood having worked as both a carer and a co-ordinator in a number of Family Day Care Schemes in South-East Queensland.

In 1987 she was the first co-ordinator working to establish home-based child care in the South Burnett area, later moving to Caboolture FDC, before becoming the manager of Redcliffe FDC in 1993.

She holds an Associate Diploma in Child Care and a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood). Pat has always nurtured an interest in creative arts, especially dance and writing.

In 1998 her first children's story book was published which sold well in Australia and overseas.  Publication of other short stories followed.

Eventually, surrounded by the paraphenalia of her son Jeff's passion for guitar, she began to explore and experiment with some of his wonderful 'toys'.  It wasn't long before previously unkown god-like figures like Vai, Satriani, Stevie-Ray (not to mention familiar ones like Clapton) were luring her on and in no time at all obsession was complete!

Always encouraging, Jeff suggested lessons and introduced her to Simon.  A couple of years before the SGM studio morphed from wishful thinking to the reality it is today, she became one of Simon's students...and the musical journey became even more exciting and challenging!

She has now turned her love of music and all things guitar into her livelihood through her work on the front desk at Simon Gardner Music.
